Marcine A. Seid is the principal attorney of the Seid Law Group in Palo Alto, California. Ms. Seid’s practice primarily focuses on business immigration where she represents start-ups and emerging high tech companies, as well as multi-national companies in the IT, engineering, clean energy and construction industries. Her experience also includes consulting on I-9 employment verification issues, advising employers in the implementation of compliance policies and procedures and representing employers in agency immigration worksite investigations. Ms. Seid served as co-chair and member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) National Verification & Worksite Enforcement Liaison Committee and member of AILA’s Compliance Standards Task Force established to create model U.S. standards for the best practices and ethics for worksite enforcement compliance auditing. Her service to AILA has also included membership on AILA’s Board of Governors (13 years), chair of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter, chair of the AAO Liaison Committee and membership on other national and local AILA liaison committees with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services in past years. Ms. Seid is a nationally recognized speaker and thought leader on business immigration matters. She is the co-author of three books: Immigration Compliance & Best Practices (American Bar Association – 2018), Immigration Compliance Auditing for Lawyers (American Bar Association – 2011), both of which analyze federal law and policy pertaining to immigration compliance auditing, and Immigration Law in the Workplace (Aspen Publishers), which provides guidance to U.S. companies regarding their immigration obligations and benefits for foreign employees.
